I think the issue is it seems that its’ mainly people with Teslas that are doing this. I haven’t really seen anything about other vehicles with similar guided systems, having their owners go to great length to defeat something. maybe it was the wording autopilot that confused people, or maybe people are too trusting…

LS in general, yes. LS7...no. As a Z06 owner, trust me they aren’t reliable unless you replace the entire rotating assembly.
