Unducted fans can push a lot more air if the nacelle isn’t in the way, restricting airflow. They can produce more thrust on a smaller turbine, saving fuel. Their main drawback is that they are extremely loud. 

Unducted fans have never made it to market because they’re F’ING LOUD. The tension between NIMBYs and airports is already strained as it is, these will never get approved.
