No, he is correct. The fact they were staying in the locker room changes the story completely and that angle did not get addressed with journalistic integrity.

Your screengrab on the first play was well after he had been touched. The main angle you could see before he was touched looked like the ball was probably across the line, but with his towel in the way you couldn’t decisively tell where the ball was at, I agree with Tony Romo’s assessment.
