I figured pregnancy, but I think you might be right. A pregnancy triangle feels too 90s for this show.

Yay! That's all I have.
Aw. I actually read that in his voice and cadence.
Hopefully with a side of George Bernard Slaw? *crosses fingers*
Very sharp interview. I saw this trailer a little while ago, and it only piqued my interest because I recognized the name Seretse Khama from the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books (ok, and also because of my abiding love for David Oyelowo), but now I'm much more interested in seeing the film for its own sake.
You are absolutely right, but one of my favorite bits of trivia is that early on, Tommy did in fact have a job. In the Ms. Trinidad episode, Tommy works at the school. He's organizing their Career Day, even. I don't know when that got dropped, but I love that it did.
Yes! I was just coming here to say that, while I loved everybody clowning him for his Milk Dud head and not having no job, my favorite Tommy moments were definitely his random acts of preaching. He was hilarious, and I'm so sad.
I've personally been waiting and wishing for Sphere to hit Netflix only because it increases the chance that they'll finally spork it for How Did This Get Made?
Paper Moon! And some movies wouldn't be nearly as striking or beautiful if they weren't filmed in black and white. Like Hud.
But … but their pitch people are so charming! Surely those smiling, good-natured gals would never try to trap me in a hellish maze of interest and obligations from which there is no escape?
I seriously love Stage Door, but no way is it funnier than The Women. My hero Ginger Rogers at her wisecracking best is not a match for that entire salon setpiece, the first meeting of Crystal at the perfume counter, every single telephone conversation (but especially Crystal trying to convince Stephen not to break…
Ugh, The Opposite Sex. One of the most pointless films ever made, for sure. The only reason it even exists is because it's a musical, but as you say, the songs are terrible. June Allyson and Agnes Morehead are good though.
I love those "living history" type programs. Again, the UK versions do always seem to be better produced than ours.
Sure you can. It's just that the stupid execs aren't the TV execs. This time.
He was also very good in the overlooked remake of Sparkle from a few years back. If he got the chance, I think he could sustain a Robin Williams style transition to a respectable acting career.
Don't forget that high kick Audra threw in at the end! And before that, we got Jane Krakowski doing a full split. That Trop50 is clearly doing her some good.
I didn't even know they'd had it online, and I still thought they could've cut it from the show. It was cute, and congrats to Corden for getting "Guns and Ships" into the show (plus a nice back pat for him knowing all the words), but yeah, it felt like a waste of time.
It is one of my greatest fears that I won't ever get to see Daveed Diggs perform "What'd I Miss." Talk about madness.
Thank you for posting this. Remembering these words was the first thing that brought me out of shock, and into tears. I can't … I can't imagine anyone now in the public eye, athlete, an actor, even a fucking politician making a statement like this, making a sacrifice like this, for a principle. For his community.
I hate boxing. I hate it. The idea of it, two people doing everything to beat each other to a pulp, goes against the grain of my very nature. But I could look at pictures of Ali in the ring for hours. He really was pretty. He was brilliant.
