I also like it. The grill isn’t the greatest, but it looks as good as most of the trucks on the market. I’m looking forward to seeing pricing and EPA figures on the hybrid.

11.3% of original owners keep them 15 years or longer, which is 1.8x the average. It’s ranked 5 on the list of cars kept longest; a list dominated by Toyota.
Neutral: I’m disappointed Jalopnik hasn’t dropped an article about the new Tundra yet. Also disappointed Toyota didn’t announce a Prime version. I don’t think it’s ugly as everyone else does, and I’m looking forward to seeing pricing and fuel economy numbers.
Eighty-thousand Lightnings per year is still not that much
I know it could be removed, but boy does that wing look dumb.
Coming from an zzw30 owner, that’s a terrible recommendation for a daily. It’s a great weekend car. It’s tons of fun and very reliable, but there is practically zero storage in the car.
Putting in long objects would be way easier
The first generation Scion xB’s front seats fold flat into the rear seats if you remove the head rests and slide them all the way forward.
How does it compare to other (not EV) ~$45k cars?
Interesting take. I think the opposite is true for most people. I only care about the camera and battery life, otherwise everything else about something like an iPhone 7 would be just fine.
My 4x4 truck with ATs sure does better in than my fwd Camry. Someone in those comments also said you can’t drive in 4wd, which is bologna.
Will it have a PHEV option? If so, what’s the EV only range and how much does it cost?
I meant what I meant. The Polestar name has been around, but it wasn’t it’s own brand. It would be like Mercedes spinning off AMG into a brand.
Why? That’s like saying you don’t understand why Toyota would create Lexus instead of just using the brand equity they already had.
It’s a weird decision to launch a new brand instead of using all of the brand equity that Volvo already has.
This price seems pretty low compared to other vans that seem to fit the whole #vanlife movement. I’m not really sure why some old vans are $30k and this one is $6k, but I’m going to go with NP.
I don’t agree with Elon on much, but I do on this point. The federal government shouldn’t be funneling money to unions. Incentives shouldn’t be politicized. EV incentives should focus on EVs. Reasonable restrictions would be requiring it be for cars under a certain cost, or cars that get a certain range, or even cars…
I wouldn’t get back into an e39 M5 for this price, but that is right around the going rate for that mileage.
People get rid of their M5s for all sorts of dumb reasons...
I’m looking forward to my Apple Car’s 4 year planned obsolescence. I assume it will just go slower and slower until it completely stops working and I have to trade it in for $40 towards a new one.
