This is a complete ripoff of the Tacoma. They didn’t even try to differentiate it. 

Prius. It’s about as no frills as you can get. Slow, good fuel economy, and reliable. 

Late 70s and 80s cars were mostly garbage. They are distinct, but aren’t worth getting to know them better. With few exceptions, car culture/community just skipped right over them and went straight to various 90's models becoming collector cars.

Same. We both have automatic cars and I have a manual weekend car. 

Driving a stick with a heavy clutch sucks in stop and go traffic. If that’s 90% of your driving, its a valid reason to get an automatic.

I fully agree with what you are saying, but I do question how much each of those ships pollutes per ton of cargo per mile moved compared to passenger vehicles. I’d fully expect something moving 24/7 and hauling massive amounts of cargo to pollute more than my car, but that’s probably even more of a reason they should…

Plenty of marques have said they are going to be all electric before 2030.

The title says 2050 but the article says 2030.  By 2030 isn’t “weak ass-shit,” it’s realistic. Moreover, it’s completely fair for PHEVs to count towards that goal as they can do 90% of driving in EV mode for most drivers, which gets more out of our limited battery supply. 

Vroom offered me what I paid for my 3+ year old Tacoma, not including TTL. The problem is replacing any vehicle in this market is a losing proposition.
