I’d take the IQ over a Smart car, but who would willingly buy either?

Most people seem to think any vintage of M3 is THE LAST GREAT DRIVER’S CAR, so they usually sell as such.

Crack pipe: I used to have an e36 M3. They aren’t that great of cars. They are fun, easy to work on, but just miss some mark.

It is kind of ridiculous that the world’s biggest or second-biggest automaker (depending on how you count) is playing catch up on EVs with Tesla

They were almost identical, particularly when AM General sold it under the Hummer model name, instead of General Motors selling it under the H1 name. You must be thinking of the H2 or H3, which are in no way related to the H1.

How is that different than my comparison to VA’s HMMWV/H1 situation? 

I can understand not allowing any more registrations, but cancelling existing vehicle regulations is pretty messed up.

They are great cars, but the Corolla and Camry Hybrids get almost the same fuel economy and aren’t Priuses.

A kid I went to high school with had an e30 M3. That’s worth big bucks today, but was mostly seen as an older BMW in the early 2000's when I was in high school.

That’s how Verizon tricked people out of their unlimited plans 10+ years ago. 

Elise’s are going for $10k+ more than when I was looking at them, which is even better than near-zero depreciation. Unfortunately, that pushes it more towards dream car status. I’m curious what the 25 year rule will do to values.

They will likely also call you poor by saying you are jealous and probably can’t afford a Tesla anyway

I really can’t wait to see the Tesla Stans rationalize this one. 

Level 5 is most likely in someplace like Paris or London where they can ban all cars that lack high end self driving and configure the roads to meet the needs of those vehicles
