They made a relatively small investment in hydrogen and continue to perform work in that area. That doesn’t really have anything to do with EVs.

1 & 2: not really. Not in comparison to ICE vehicles.
Toyota has been late to all-electric for reasons that I can’t totally discern,
This seems like a solution for a problem that is fairly minor. The bigger issues are the weight and aerodynamics of trucks, and the towing efficiency of EVs. Then secondary issues are battery supply, capacity, and placement.
Most aren’t.
That’s closer to what happened here.
Not only that, a good amount of these medallions are held by taxi companies, and not individual drivers.
While I agree it’s a stupid plan, your take on the whole issue is worse.
That’s pretty spot on.
There was a Jalopnik article recently talking about how bad trucks are. One of their main points was that trucks are too heavy and damage the infrastructure. No one makes those claims when it comes to EVs, yet the Model Y, S, and X all weigh more than my truck, the model 3 weights about as much, and all 4 of them are…
Reverse: It’s pretty fitting that America’s highest vehicle tunnel is in Colorado.
Can’t wait to see the slideshow of all the comments.
That seemed like a very lenient sentence all things considered.
It’s not really surprising that people that buy Hondas don’t find them as unattractive as they are.
Neutral: I used to live in the DC metro area and had a terrible commute. The congestion was a major factor in why I moved away. I can’t imagine ever returning to that sort of grind for any realistic amount of pay. Hitting back to back traffic lights is what I consider traffic these days. This might be a wake up call…
Some girl let me play with her boobs every day in middle school and high school (until I started driving), so I guess the school bus was pretty rad.
You don’t even have to go to Japan to get one of those:
Maybe they finally sorted out their quality control problems and discovered how much it actually costs to build a car.
You’d probably call me anti-Tesla based on most of my comments about them. I wouldn’t get a Tesla, I don’t think EVs are viable for my lifestyle currently, and they have very glaring quality problems. I think most of what you perceive to be Tesla hate isn’t so much rooting for them to fail as it is saying they aren’t…
To add to you excellent take, EVs account for 2% of US sales (their largest market) and carry essentially no profit. Batteries are a huge constraint. I can’t blame them for not trying to get into that market. My personal take is EVs aren’t going to take off for decades. PHEVs seem to be the real short-term future, and…
