The headline number here really doesn’t mean much. How much has the population grown since 2007? What are the relative miles travelled?

What are you supposed to.....drive forward?? Then they smash your windows and drag you out of the car to stomp you.  So yeah, that’s false imprisonment.

A person is said to commit false imprisonment when they restrain another person to a single area, restricting their free motion. That Asfaw is the only protester to face those charges when several others were arrested, though, is strange.

Erin wants you to ignore looters because they might be down on their luck and probably need the things they’re looting though.

If your party’s secretary is in a room with 99 unvaccinated activist and one is allowed to remain while carrying a Nazi flag, you now have a room with 100 Nazis.

Honest question: why not wear parachutes every time you fly those small planes, like we do with life jackets on a boat? Not defending what tubebro did, but once you really can’t restart a flying coffin like that, seems reasonable to jump ship.

Is the relation of road conditions to speed limits the same though? Much of our country doesn’t even have 120kmh speed limits so I would imagine not? It seems as though their speed limits have adjusted with the capability of cars.

I’ve spent a couple months in Germany. One of the big things that Germans get that Americans don’t is the idea of being an adult.

They also seem to be geniuses

It’s a little pretentious calling their corporate PR operation a “newsroom” but other than that nothing new.

Molly, you’re one of the few journalists at Gizmodo with actual (if still fairly fresh) bona fides in the field, I sincerely hope you realize that the irony in this piece originating from Gizmodo Media Group is thick. You work for the poster child of Yellow Journalism.

You mock, but I’d love to see how the pay and benefits compare to G/O.

I wonder if Erin would be quite as cool with stealing if thieves broke into her home and took her stuff. The thought experiment can assume that these thieves are “suffering from income inequality” or are “desperate”. Perhaps “shit has even been real” lately for them?

Amen, what a joke.

This weird apologist take is just bad. These people are thieves, stealing things from OTHER people who legitimately bought something despite the poor economy.

“Now, every outlet is calling these folks thieves, and sure, that’s technically correct.”

I should’ve stopped reading the first time Erin offered excuses for criminal behavior. But I kept reading and found more of it.

This weird apologist take is just bad. These people are thieves, stealing things from OTHER people who legitimately bought something despite the poor economy. This isn’t a stick-it-to-bezos thing. This is impacting folks like you and me who work to pay their bills, then get their hard-earned shit stolen by someone who

Here’s an idea - stop with this DRL BS and just use the freaking low beam lights and taillights that are already there are the DRL. Car in drive? lights are on. End of story.

Now if only their lights could be activated automatically with the wipers, as well. The number of cars I run up on through heavy rain/mist/fog/snow without their taillights on is staggering. If we can’t agree to have rear foglights and use them correctly, we should at least get headlights/taillights on.
