I don’t think the yaw damper would help that much in terms of dealing with asymmetrical thrust. It exists to counteract the tendency of swept-wing aircraft to experience dutch roll, which can be bad. But I doubt it helps with the thrust issue, any more than it would help with a crosswind landing with a sharp crab…
