What would you do with the Gripen? It’s electronic suite is not near as capable as other 4.5 gen airframes. Let alone gen 5 when finished. It is the same as modern F-16. So why bother? When you autorotate there is no torque in the system so you won't need a tail rotor to counteract.

Yes Gliders have a pitot static system so they know their airspeed. The string is indicative for coordinated turns.

It is a trailing cone pressure transducer. It is used to measure the static pressure.

Or you could just look up the mach airspeed on the HUD. Which shows 0.66, so your wizz wheel skills are not bad at all...

My grandma used to have these attached to the radiator. You fill them with water which of course evaporates and humidifies the air. One per two yards of radiator will do the trick.

Oh they design other supersonic planes as well, like the A-10 and C-130 too.
