As a grad student, I was the first in my dept to take parental leave. The dept chair wasn’t happy about it, but had the sense not to make an issue of it. Maybe she had some HR training or something.

There was a really fascinating study done in academia a few years ago that highlighted one of the real problems with how leave and associated benefits like tenure clock stoppage affect men and women in very different ways. Ironically, policies that allow faculty members to stop their tenure clock for a year instituted…

In an ideal world, paid parental leave would be mandatory for all new parents, either from birth or adoption. At least 4 months for both parents to bond with the new baby, physically recover (for the birth mother), and adjust to life with a new human being to take care of.

How awful of feminists to want a woman in office who would use that power to advance the feminist agenda instead of sabotage it!  So hypocritical!
