Others have covered this more in depth so I’ll let that ride for full explanation, but just gotta add:

I’ve long since adjusted my pov to understand that every prius and electric on the road is not a threat to my classic car but a boon. No one who glorifies in ICE tech finds it in the appliance under the hood of a corolla. I’m not saying the corolla isn’t an amazing machine for what it is, but what it is isn’t a

I know I’ll be only a grey here, but I’d like to encourage you to go and make that Wikipedia page. Quite seriously, anyone can make one (it always seemed a touch untrue so I took a training course on it (shut up, I know, I’m a nerd) and they actively encouraged us to just go do it). So now I do it. And it's surprising

Can't recommend this enough. I finally took the dash cam plunge even for my rarely driven cars because you can get a full width rear view mirror replacement touch screen with dual cameras (backup, front) for literally $80. And bonus, you can take pics and save clips of cool shit you see while also getting 100% blind

I get that this is a very different use case than the standard American suburb/commuter use case but damn if this isn’t significantly more exciting than anything marketed to those folks as a driving appliance. And that’s even before the electric of it all!

I think this has been answered in brief by other comment, but if you want a full industrial organization answer, here goes:

This was my hope for a Trump candidacy: that it would be a final corner to turn on this bullshit. Turns out that corner was more of a Nascar loop and we needed 4 years of it. I’m still hopeful, but I’ll admit that that hope is very significantly dosed with fear and disappointment at the lack of learning which the pain

I’d love to know where they found those extra 45 horses in an OEM ka24de.

Oh, no doubt, but I'm sure Bumpon REALLY enjoyed it.

take the thing the Scout was pretending to be, and give it the opportunity to actually be it!

Yeah, I really don’t get who goes tot the trouble to supercharge for 30hp (12.5%) bump. That seems like a lot of trouble for whatever gains.

This design works for me! Weird, but fun.

Also, backup cameras are required in the US on all new cars (because, imo, they cost 5 bucks and the deliver a shitton of value even if the dude bros “can just turn around oh wait that was a kid Meh I don’t care”)

My point was that a technology based on real time pricing based on a variety of supply chain, location, and other factors could easily be adapted to the relatively simplistic rules around sales tax. It was bezos’s extreme philosophical aversion to sales tax that led him to seek exemptions and loopholes. It was also a

I’ve always thought that the most interesting turn of the screw on tech innovation with the platform economy is that it makes regulatory compliance technologically easier (e.g. Tax calculation on Amazon, partial benefits for part time workers on uber/lyft) but the people who claim ownership over this technology

Nice price/no dice gets my NP!

I hear ya! I definitely understand how lucky we are to have two garage spots in the city. Finally became a financial benefit as you can only get Hagerty classic insurance if you have an alternative DD. I knew we kept that Mazda3 around for a reason 😂

Not that I don’t appreciate the label, but not sure I’ve earned it 😉

I could get on board with everything but that hack job battery pack (I know it's oem, still looks ratchet).

I drive stick in San Francisco. Yes, I have the privilege in my career to almost never have to drive in rush hour traffic, but I’ve still had to ride a clutch up the damn Bay Bridge on ramp which they chose to make a hairpin curve on a 30% grade with three merges (3-2-1-0) that’s perpetually 45 minute bumper to bumper
