After posting, I actually went down this rabbit hole. The only real wear component with airbags is the concern with the “glass to metal” or “plastic to metal” seals for the connectors between the electronic controls and the inflator. However, that concern is only really with airbags from the 1970s (no typo, seventies)…
So, something I’ve also thought about. However, as far as I know, they do not expire.
