Where do people get off saying that these cars are overpriced and underpowered. They cost about a grand more than an MX-5 (a Jalop favorite) but put out 33 more HP without the effeminate stigma carried by the MX-5s. It gets rave reviews for its handling and is a cheap, lightweight track car. It deserves some credit

Where is my A5 TDI?

Why yes, yes they do.

If you don't want to be tracked, remove the phone battery.

Yep. Mississippi here. People don't recognize that the split here was just 56%R / 44%D

Its a marketing campaign for the Sony NEX series, which is a shame because I like keeping a NEX 5 handy for the odd technical shot. I don't know why they think marketing it towards photography idiots is a good thing...

I happen to be in a position where I get the latest and greatest phone every 2-4 months. For the first little while it was fun - I considered it a perk.

I haven't been on NYC's subway, but as a visitor not used to public transit I found DC's subway system to be clean, cheap, efficient, and intuitive. It was the first time I have ever regretted renting a car.

If you start naming them, isn't there a risk that Insurance companies will use the scheme to start jacking up rates? Similar to why New York is calling their hurricane a storm?

Any Jeep with Rock Lights

That Master Chief costume is pretty cool. I'm almost willing to throw down the $500

Wonder why they don't just hide one of these under the car or behind a panel?

We didn't get a 6-speed, or a 130hp version in the US. Just 90hp and 5speeds. I've had 3 of them with over 250k miles on them, and only once had any gear problems. Usually its caused by people neglecting to fill the trans with the right fluid.

While filling up the Passat TDI the pump cut off at $90 and wanted me to swipe again.

Don't know where you are from, but the 99-03 TDIs in the US were not PD. The PDs didn't start coming here until 04.

I propose the VW TDI engine, but more specifically the 1999.5 - 2003 1.9L variant.

Agree with 2nd generation. First year for a rotary injection pump, all mechanically controlled.

I have a love/hate relationship with my 97 Passat TDI with 290,xxx miles. I love the fuel economy, space, utility, and general durability of the car. It has broken on me before, but never in a way that I couldn't limp it home. It requires periodic maintenance but the cost of keeping it on the road never comes close
