I don’t think that’s true. From what I’ve read, if you’re dealing with a lithium ion battery fire the best course of action is to douse it in water until it cools enough to not reignite. It’s not just about putting out the initial flames.

Agreed. No OEM would ever do this. Which is why Indie mechanics are so great. They usually figure out the tricks to save you a bunch of money, vs. the parts swappers who work for the OEMs.

Nope, last time I had a vehicle repaired due to road debris it was classified as a comprehensive claim. 

The point is you shouldn’t have to replace an entire $16k battery because a plastic nipple for a low pressure cooling system was cracked. This should be a $1 part that can easily be replaced on said battery pack.
