Both of my cars are 14 years old. Neither of them are getting recalled at this point (nor will they ever see the inside of a dealer service bay again).

So, what you’re saying basically is that if an automatic Miata is worth more than $14,000 or less than $14,000 it’s just not gonna be recalled.

Maybe they’ll make a 2.5L version putting out 220hp... 180 out of a 2.0 NA tuned for Street driving/economy is fine, I’m sure they could make larger displacement or higher compression versions without too much trouble.

Also, why not use this trick with an actual diesel, and get the economy of a Honda Cub?
