I think the biggest misconception people have about getting into space is the idea that you go upward until gravity just, kinda switches off, and then you’re in space and you float around until you decide to come back down.

Could someone smarter than me explain why it’s not possible to build a craft that can fly up to the Kármán Line, and just keep going up until it escapes the Earth’s pull and continues into space?
If you’d have driven a CTS-V you may change your tune.
First Gear: *looks out window at Tacoma*.
Boo yah!
Because its an engineering exercise, not a design exercise. They are just trying to work out AP tech. Fancy pants design will come later.
I’ve owned about all the different generations of diesels with different style injection systems. The 2000 era of diesel usually used a computer controlled Bosch rotary pump, or unit injectors. My 12 valve 6BT with the old school static pump would get around 16-19 highway whenstock, the VP44 rotary pump in my ‘99…
He said they designed them...I was correcting them. Who tested them is irrelevant to my comment.
I guess he will be literally and figuratively under water on this loan as well.
The popularity of electric cars in Norway doesn’t have a damn thing to do with the weather. In fact, electric cars lose a great deal of range in frigid weather.

Friends don’t let friends drive 2+2's.
Although heavy duty pickups are exempt from some safety standards, it is much more difficult to design and build a cab-over design that is as safe as a tradition “doghouse” design. Common sense and simple geometry tells you that the less metal, support, and space between you and the object you are hitting, the greater…
Existing 18-wheelers can already lock up their brakes. What would even more braking power achieve? The limiting factor is not at the brakes but rather the friction between the tires and the road.
Most rural carriers use their own vehicles, not post office ones. I’ve lived in rural Texas for over 35 years now, I have yet to see a postal vehicle out here. Most are Jeep Cherokees or pickups with caps.
