And how is it “awkwardly shoehorned in” in this case?

Yeah, must be diversity quota. No way a Black woman would be able to play a character that’s constantly descriminated against becasue of the color of her skin.

True, but for the many people that don’t have access to Broadway quality theatre, this is the only way many will have a chance to see these musicals.

100% this. And if you happend to have Apple TV+, and you haven’t watched “Come from Away”, go immedietly. Great show.

If you were able to get by the horrible, horrible decision to use Ben Platt, the movie was actually a pretty good adaptation.

So you just want it to be totally different from the musical? That would take so much rewriting and reordering that I can’t imagine that ever happenening.

Making this into two movies is such a shockingly horrible idea, that I don’t even know where to start.

Well, her skin color is actually vital to the plot, but she’s green, not black or white.

Yes, very brave to actually cast a Tony Award winning musical theatre star as one of the leads, even though she’s not a big name

Do you even bother to read the threads? PP asked, “Why is it OK for him to do something ‘performatively’ but not the students?”

Because he was invited to do so?

Dammit, I meant Tuesday. I knew it was the third episode, but forgot it started in Friday. And Monday was the good episode.

The Wednesday night episode was one of the worst hours of television I’ve ever seen. Just painfully, flop sweat inducing, unwatchably bad.

I found the 2nd episode much better than the first, although the pre-taped bits are still bafflingly unfunny, and not bizarre enough to be interesting.

This seemed to have kind of a “Magical Mystery Tour” vibe to it. Let’s get all these interesting people together, and something cool will surely follow. Doesn’t always work that way.

Yup. AV Club writers seem to constantly think that actors/comics owe them something specific, and then complain when that random expectation isn’t fulfilled. It’s bizarre.

And a few weeks later, Paramount fired their CEO.

Paramount streaming is doing so badly that they just fired Paramount’s CEO.

I haven’t seen Cross funny in anything since Arrested Development.

You forgot about Wallace Shawn?!?
