You’re calling “The Court Jester” a forgettable movie?!?

How many awards is The Bear going to steal from actual comedies this year?

I prefer having the multiple difficulties. If I want to really challenge myself I can. If I get frustrated and want it easier, I can do that. Making everything closer to middle ground takes away everyone’s ability to make their own choices.

Ugh, nightmares.

If you don’t like the Mimic’s Tear, don’t use it.

I know this is an immensely easy analogy, but this season reminded me of a mediocre, high priced tasting menu.

Is there anything you wrote that wasn’t completely evident in the first season, not to mention the second?

Can I please say “never use that picture again” without it being considered body shaming?

I’ll wait to talk about the finale until the AV Club gets there, but I can say that I think it encapsulates this entire season perfectly. If you loved the season you probably loved it, if you were frustrated by the season, you were probably frustrated by it.

Another poster said they heard on a podcast that the showrunner only wanted to do season 3, but Hulu made them do two seasons instead, and they stretched the plot that was supposed to be only one season over two. If true, that makes a whole lotta sense.

For those of you that freak out any time I complain about the show spinning it’s wheels when it comes to plot, and that this is all about charcter development, I submit this episode as to why both aren’t going well.

Absolutely braindead reply. Plot and character are both important in any play/movie/tv show.

It’s funny that you said that becasue my wife and I both commented on how distracting it was, being able to see every pore on their faces.

Another well acted, well directed episode that stopped any semblance of plot in its tracks.

Plot doesn’t have to be king, but it does have to be queen, or at least a jack.

That would really explain a lot! Thanks for passing that along.

The other theme of this season is that the plot doesn’t advance at all.

Maybe they got tired of dealing with criticisms that they keep winning comedy awards despite not being a comedy.

He compliments Syd on a scallop dish that felt “really new—like, not Carmy.” She tells him the recipe was a collaboration between the two of them, but I have a hunch she’s giving Carm more credit than he deserves.”

I think the assumption for a tasting menu is that it’ll change often, if not daily.
