I hate to be that guy, but this is relatively old news. I have a CNN special from 2007 (called Planet in Peril) that brought this to light, amongst other things. The phrase "sixth mass extinction" was used several times throughout the first part of it.

@das7002: Not always. There have been quite a few times that I have had to manually switch back, and while it's not the most annoying thing in the world it can be irritating.

It sounds like a great idea, but this is too much power for Facebook, who has very questionable ideas about privacy, to handle.

@vinod1978: I don't think that any of those companies are as lawsuit-happy as Apple, and that's the problem in my opinion.

My friend has a MacBook Pro that is only two months old. He spilled a very small amount of liquid on it, and now his keyboard is unusable. The Genius Bar said that Apple could repair it and sell it back to him for $700 or he could buy a new one for $900. Good customer service? I think not.
