That isn’t even close to analogous. Some people liked the multiplayer, most didn’t care about it as Mass Effect is a single player experience. I never played Pinnacle Station and it is a shame it is lost forever for game preservation purposes, but it isn’t a core component of the series either.

When Halo 2 was announced there was articles about the stealth elements and how Master Chief could hang on the edge of ledges. Because they never implemented that in the final product, would you say Halo 2 can never be a complete product without it?

I’ve now played Rise longer than I have played any other Monster Hunter game. It does explain the basics pretty well and there are a billion guides online you can read to understand some of their more esoteric systems.
