I need to see it myself, but I know it got raves when it debuted but never really had cross-over appeal for my generation (unless you are a fan of Tina Turner or the actors). Most people who know of it in my age group know it from the admittedly very funny quip about it in Clueless.

It is depressing in several ways, but the very ending is so surprisingly upbeat and life-affirming (at least for one character), it's a wonder to behold.

That we did! I'm thrilled she's having a career resurgence. She's one of the best actors of her generation and she deserves all the acclaim she's getting.

It really reads like a great novella. You are in for a treat.
