I’m being nitpicky, but Young wasn’t the first African American Congressman since Reconstruction — Young and Barbara Jordan were the first Southern African Americans elected since Reconstruction.

Yep.  Definitely don’t get the criticism on this.  Based on the headline, I was expecting him to get tripped up mid-air, do an awkward flip mid-air, and barely avoid disaster.  

What was he supposed to do? Crash into the catcher? That’s illegal now. Run out of the baseline? He would have been automatically out. Stop running and wait for the catcher to tag him out? At least he tried. What would you have done?

I’m kinda enchanted that the FBI actually followed up on this, he was actually arrested, and is apparently being held without bail.
