The storyline is a metaphor, like a lot of Buffy storylines, for things that happen to you in high school. In this case, “I slept with my boyfriend and now he’s acting differently.” It’s very clear that Buffy did nothing wrong and the bad guy is Angelus.

As long as Routh’s Superman is basically the Kal-L in this and gets to deliver that final blow to the Anti-Monitor, I’ll be happy. I’ve been waiting 13 years to see Routh as Clark again. Finally.
