Dont really care about the people involved but there is a larger concept here that is important.

Cue the dry hair/dry skin people telling the oilies that its their fault for being oily and if we wouldnt wash so much our skin/hair would balance out.

You dont have to tell people where you are going...but you could tell them you are fine and are going off the grid for a while. A quick “ I am fine I just need some time to think” note would have saved a ton of worry and anxiety for those who loved her and to the total strangers that spent time looking for her.
