I just bought a 1979 Mini 1000, Russet Brown (on double-brown interior), in good shape. Do I leave it mostly original and enjoy it as-is or do I update some items to make it a bit of my own? I may do front disc brakes but only for survival’s sake. Wish me luck!
This needs way more stars. Akina SpeedStars.

+1 for equating this corner cutting to the Mint 400. I laughed.
Came here to say the exact same thing.
The Honda America press release linked in the article says 2.0T with available 6MT. So there ya go.
You’ll be happy to know the chrome vent on the side is indeed a real vent. Find a high-res rear 3/4 shot and zoom way in.
Honda are arguably the masters of FWD, why would they make this short little thing RWD? With the torque from the motors it would never be pointing in the direction you wanted it to. And a huge battery pack (40+ kWh) in such a small car isn’t very realistic at the moment. I think what you’re looking for is a Model3...…
Bah sorry to hear that. I’m not a truck guy at all so how much are those worth? $9k for a 10 year old Dakota doesn’t seem too crazy to me but yeah, the miles are super low.
You know the Elantra sedan and i30 (Elantra GT in North America) are not the same car/platform right?
I’ve driven every Hyundai there is, including the upcoming GT. Many times. So I understand what you are trying to say. But comparing it to a moving van kills any credit anyone could give to your comment.
All I’m saying is that none of the cars you’ve listed (minus the Elantra Sport) share anything with this car. What you should have said is “I hope they made it better then the 5 Hyundai’s I’ve driven”. The engine recall is irrelevant was my point.
The seats are different. This doesn’t share much except the turbo engine with the sedan which uses a pretty uninspiring Atkinson cycle for fuel economy. This 2.0L has more power thanks to our old friend Otto (cycle). But yeah the seats in the GT are pretty nice in my opinion.
This is literally the first time I’ve ever heard someone say a Camry is exciting to drive. Incredible. Also, these cars are not competitors. And if you think the Elantra Sport is “dull as a cloud” then you must have a pretty cool daily driver. A Camry maybe? I hear those are much more exciting to drive.
Congrats, you’ll love it.
195 lb-ft from the 1.6T.
You’re really beating the ol’ recall drum here eh? Especially given that recall has nothing to do with either of the engines found in this car. The recall was for the 2.4L and 2.0T from the Santa Fe & Sonata (and Kia counterparts). If you’re a Hyundai hater that’s cool and I’m sure your automotively-challenged friends…
1995droptopz commented on that above. Noise regs are making cars quieter outside so to keep them exciting manufacturers just put more noise inside. Hyundai’s ESG is actually pretty good compared to many I’ve heard (looking at you BMW).
So if a feature-laden, 270+hp German designed car costs the same as a base-model 210hp German designed car then they’ll be onto something? I can’t imagine giving up that much for a VW badge. But I like money so to each their own.
