Hell, my 996 gets 27 on the highway, usually at a decent clip. Different story on a back road in the upper half of the rev range.
All the more reason for a spinoff.
Thanks, that’s a better way of expressing what I was going for. A complete spin-off may also have a better shot at hitting the target, rather than having a good idea drug back to the status quo like we’ve seen in the past with a new brand (Saturn).
Need? Meh. Want? I like my condiments cold. The temperature contrast is a key part of the experience for me.
Would a spinoff allow GM to escape some legacy dealership obligations?
Buy the best Boxster you can find in your budget. That should be easy in LA. Cliche, but there’s a reason some things are cliche.
That sucks. In my area many of the guys who don’t ride BMW will even take their bikes there for service and will come to the events throughout the year, open house, christmas party, even occasional screenings of movies like the BDR series. It is enthusiast owned, which may be the difference.
I will say the BMW dealer experience is outstanding, at least from what I’ve experienced.
That it is.
I understand your point, but I find conflating slavery with getting fired after illegally striking and being warned about it more than a bit troubling. Hell, I’m not even saying Reagan was right, just that it was predictable.
Nice.
Massively important point that is often overlooked when it’s convenient. The strike was an illegal action under law. I’m no Reagan fan, but the controllers forced his hand and got the predictable results.
I think we worry too much about the age of a certain platform. If it works and incremental updates are done to various components, I don’t see a problem with it. It seems to be working for FCA with the Challenger and the updated-every-decade-or-so-Wrangler.
No. We all know this and I seriously doubt anyone is running out to buy a Changli because of these articles. On the other hand, I enjoy reading these posts because I’m not getting hit over the head with things I already know. This is why the Torch or Tracy posts are my favorite, or when we’re lucky, Torch and Tracy.…
Pretty sure America is Canada’s pants. Just look at Florida.
I maintain the Boxster S is the 914 of 15 years ago. This is the time to buy, just not this one if you’re expecting appreciation. It is a good one for fun though.
Last time I noticed peacocks running free in the wild was at Angel’s Ladies in Beatty, Nevada back before they closed. Add that fuel to the fire.
For all those who whine about the cost of enthusiast cars, here’s your chance. Mid-engine, manual, convertible. Put the ECM in a waterproof box and enjoy having a fun and interesting car for the price of a responsible down payment on a new Civic. Bonus if you have the time and resources to part it out if it dies, or…
If your talking about their actions and mental state, I would agree. They all have a slavish devotion and tendency to aggressively attack those who would attack their savior. It’s fucking weird and disturbing. Somehow we’ve devolved to a state where it’s acceptable to primarily identify as a devotee of a person rather…
