The hatred for GK is really overblown. Yes, there’s loot and leveling but that’s not the end of the world. From a mechanical standpoint, the combat in GK is far more interesting than the combat in any of the Arkham games and since these are all action games, that’s pretty important.

This game is fantastic! Every JRPG fan should give it a shot, either via GamePass, PS+, or just playing the demo that is in every console/PC.

You know what, I’ll give Gotham Knights a shot.

I’m putting this off until after Boundless Trails, because I don’t want to forget anything important from the beginning. That said, I know this is compared to Chrono Trigger quite a bit, but it actually sounds more like Star Ocean: Second Story, where there’s an overarching plot and you pick one of two characters to

You can get some nice, accurate statuettes of Aeris:

I got the FFXVI CE and the Ifrit Phoenix statue if freaking gorgeous! Worth every penny.

So I’m expecting this statue to be high quality as well.

I’ve bought Square Enix Static Art statutes before and they’ve generally held up to reasonable scrutiny on their quality over your average anime statute in regards to detail and overall quality of the materials.

Considering that this is just the Deluxe edition with the statue included, the real question isn’t if you want to pay $350 for a “Collector’s Edition”, it’s if you want to pay $250 for a Sephiroth statue. And assuming the final product isn’t a lot worse than the picture (which I admit is absolutely a possibility),

I didn't even know there was a sequel. I picked up trace memory from the clearance rack at target for $5, really enjoyed it but just assumed that since it was on clearance for $5 it must not have done well enough for a sequel.

Oh that is such crap; dislike the combat system of 16 if you want, but there is no lack of passion in that game.

That’s a bullshit take. FF16 had a lot of passion behind it - watch any interview with the lead devs and the cast and you’ll see that.

Square Enix has no excuse to complain about the MILLIONS of copies FF16 sold, after cashing those paychecks from SONY.

“They just have the absolute most insane expectations. They could have shipped through to literally half the PS5 global install base and still been disappointed.”

This. Absolutely this. The eternal “arrow must always go higher” mentality that forces astronomical goals is such a damn cancer that even games that are

After hearing the developer’s explanation, I’m going to close the browser before coming back here 15 minutes later when I am bored again. What I need now is peace of mind and healing, I plan to take a pause, and continue my education in website commentary and direct my energies to my next comment.

This. And my additional (also cynical) take is that, by completely removing it from sale, he also gives it a sort of immortality. Like now it’s going to be this mythical “unavailable” game which will automatically increase its cultural cache even more.

(Admittedly, somewhat cynical) translation: I got my bag, and the longer this remains available for purchase, the more liable I am for the obvious and blatant copyright infringement the game made its fortune on.

Which, to be clear, I don’t really begrudge. I doubt this dude thought this game would ever have the

Oooooh. If there’s one game I’d like this to play similarly to, it’s Hi-Fi Rush. Cartoony but frantic combat, reminiscent of the original Devil May Cry is exactly what the new game should be.

Five years later, Final Fantasy VII Remake still hasn’t been ported to the platform.

Glad to see it expanding out of the walled Sony garden, hoefully we start seeing xbox ports eventually as well. I don’t personally play FF games but people should be able to access 3rd party titles as widely as possible. (I tried FFXV as I got the royale edition at meijer for $7.50 which I might try again at some

if you don’t have a PC to run it” You mean a powerful PC. Not everyone has a PC that is better than a PS5, you know?
