I remember a quote from a second-party dev in America about a game with motocross (can’t remember the game’s name, or the dev name. Sorry about that).
He basically said a spur-of-the-moment though about pressing the gas button when the motocross launched across jump ramps to get a small “bump”. It was so easy to

The thing is Miyamoto has a weird logic to his madness. My favorite was Donkey Kong Returns on the Wii. Miyamoto tried out an early alpha and noticed a little dust cloud when you jumped so he started jumping up and down to make more dust clouds. after a little bit he apparently said “you should use that effect for a

CDPR: we should start migrating to more modern engines
Bethesda: we have a modern engine at home
modern engine at home:

I’m actually okay with this... but I would sincerely hope that if they truly intend to sunset the engine, that they’ll open the tools up to modding community a bit more.

I don’t want to turn this into fanboy nonsense but I’ve got a PS5 and an Xbox Series X and I’m begging you all to give Xbox a shot this gen. Sony is getting away with murder with some bewilderingly high PS5 sales.

Nah, internally they’re thinking that their customers are heavily invested in the platform so they’ll tolerate the price hikes. If a business thinks it can raise prices without losing any meaningful amount of sales, they’ll absolutely do it.

Agreed wholeheartedly on GamePass. I bought my first Series X specifically to play with friends online who were exclusively on Xbox, and at the time the only way I could get one was via the All Access program (fortunately you can just pay off the line of credit they make you open immediately). I was hooked. Xbox Cloud

Really glad I stocked up on Plus and was able to convert to Premium through September of 2025. But after that? Fuuuuuuck these prices. It’s like they intentionally try to make Game Pass more attractive to consumers. And, ironically, I’d wager that internally they’re blaming this on the Microsoft lawsuit costs.

This is a big L for Sony, imo. They need to up the value of the games they provide over Plus if they’re raising the prices this much.

I can’t tell you the last time I played one of the free monthly games. I sub entirely because you need it to play online. Is that worth $80 a year to me? I genuinely don’t know. GamePass is a much better value - I actually play several GamePass games - and I’m paid up through 2026.

Bro fuck Sony. They already raised it to $60 and tied online play to the subscription

In case you missed when the case did a Zoom read of the script during covid summer:

Has that ever really been an issue? Generally film/TV actors have done just fine with voice acting.

True, but keep in mind that they’re only doing the voices they already did in the live action movie. They don’t need a ton of range in order to do what they’ve already done.

I’m still gonna give props to the live-action movie of yesteryear, because it’s WAY hard to adapt a full series (6 books) into a single 90~ mins movie. Lots of things must be cut in order to warp it up in the correct timeframe, while respecting the original vision of the story.

Really hyped for a full series that get

It really shows a tremendous amount of promise that the entire cast of a cult movie from a decade ago is showing up to voice act for this. This cast was a bunch of B listers when it was filmed, and now its almost entirely solid A listers. And with much of the same director/producer teams, plus the original author

Same here. I mean there’s plenty of other dumb video-gamey stuff that creates disadvantages for the player, but just carrying tons of boxes around so you can build Fort-Kick-Ass in 6 seconds is just too much cheesing for me. I’ve done TTRPGs basically my whole life, and put up with so much dumb crap (actually dumb,

Hard disagree, tbh. BG3 absolutely should be used as a weapon, as it proves an incredibly specific point, which is that publicly traded, shareholder run companies are almost always the enemy of quality. The developers I’ve seen that are preemptively complaining are not wrong, in that players will expect more, and they

Passed on the OG PlayStation as I was doing Amiga 1200 and Sega Game Gear at that time, although I spent a number of hours amazed by WipeOut on a friend’s machine.
