You know, if I knew 100% for sure that he didn't live with anyone else (innocent bystanders) and that doxxing him wouldn't result in physical harm, then I'd be all for it. He could use a good does of harassment.

Sounds like it to me!

As far as I know, she hasn't. She even specifically asked Rolling Stone not to get in contact with him. None of the articles I've read about it have mentioned anyone's real names.

I agree with the one asking how everyone leaped to, "Well, it obviously never happened!" It sounds like she's remembering some of the details wrong, but that doesn't mean she wasn't raped. Didn't her friends even say there was a different sorority brother with a very similar name or something?

Ehhh....I'm never comfortable with doxing, because it can put innocent people in the line of fire and who knows who this guy lives with (ill grandma, kid, roommates, etc). Plus, people can be absolutely insane, and as much as this guy deserves to be lambasted until the cows come home, I don't know if he should be

Yep. Which is why it's a pretty established rule not to print the names of victims, even if a journalist knows who they are. But this asshole blogger decided, for some reason, that he was ok with ruining peoples lives, even for unsubstantiated information. You know, if he did get it wrong, he could get sued for libel.

Bahahaha, that is so fantastic! And that dude is such a douchenozzle. Definitely a blogger, for sure. (Almost typed "blooger", which looks a lot like "booger", and is also true.)

What a horribly despicable person. Sometimes I wish journalists had to get some sort of certification, so when people do terribly stuff like this they could be "disbarred."

I think it's kind of cool that they made it so you're not quite sure if all the girls she's seeing are actually there or if she's just fucking nuts.

Jesus. Not only will this make things so much more scary and horrible for the woman if he did get the name right, but if he got it wrong then he's also endangering a completely unrelated woman! There is absolutely no justification for this, and it's irresponsible journalism *at best* if not willfully malicious.

I dunno...the idea of having to tip out all those extra people (only have to tip out bussers where I work) makes my hackles rise. I think that's just because the current tipping system has taught me to be more protective of my tips than a mother bear is over her cubs.

Oh, honey.

Yeah, I would have been so scared going to my car if I'd been in that position. I've had men shout things at me and be annoyingly persistent and do the whole "Oh you're too good for me?" thing, but I've never had someone be so aggressively predatory towards me. Maybe because I've lived in a small town since puberty, I

Yeah, especially during the war years when they were pretty much taking anybody who came in off the street. Now that they're cutting back, I would hope the screening process would be a little bit more rigorous.

Yeah, I know. And that's obviously always a risk. But even if you're scared of the aggressor turning on you, you could at least make sure the victim is ok, you know?

Oh god, that is legitimately terrifying. People really are the worst. Even if you're too scared to intervene, they could have at least checked on you after the dude had gone to see if you were alright.

Well, that makes the fact that he failed it multiple times even more terrifying.

I've always wanted to try bad ass stuff like that (my dream is using the line from She's the Man- "Girls with asses like mine do not talk to boys with faces like yours.") but I'm 5'4'' on my good days, and I'm pretty sure I'd end up in a gutter somewhere if I even tried :/

Yep. That was pretty much my reaction too, paired with a good dose of wide "Whaaaaat" eyes.
