$10 says she didn't even know who Tracy Chapman was before this.

Wonder Woman 1984 is unique in that it’s a standalone film without the burden of all the other DCEU films weighing it down, and yet it still manages to be a muddied, difficult to understand mess.

When I was a kid growing up in northern WI this was a common party food, and we would also sometimes have it for dinner on full-size pieces of rye, usually in the summer when my mother didn’t feel like turning the stove on. My grandmother owned the general store in town and would grind hamburger to order at the meat

I remember two parts of the original film that while I was watching it, made me go, “Well okay, that part was good and was added by someone who understood the source material.”

I know a lot of hardcore Hellblazer fans complained about how far it deviated from the books before it came out... but this movie kicked ass and I loved it. I say bring me more of it, and more Stormare as Satan (maybe even a cameo from Tom Ellis as a different look/form/whatever for Satan?).

One of my favorite movies as a kid, but having watched some of my favorite movies from when I was a kid as an adult and realizing how bad some of them are (Ice Pirates, Adventures in Babysitting) I always just kind of avoided this one and figured the rose tinted memories of childhood should be left alone.  To those

This is a good point. Because if any Republican senator wanted to give even the veneer of a principled stance, they’d say, “I’ll have to wait to see who the nominee is before I comment on whether or not I’ll confirm.” But they legitimately don’t care, as long as the nominee is capital C Conservative, and they’re not

What alarms me isn’t Romney confirming he does not oppose moving forward with confirmation of a judge nominated by a Republican President, but that Lindsey Graham is saying they have the votes to confirm the nominee even though we don’t even know who the nominee is yet. For all that Republicans claim to be the party

I always had a soft spot for The Motion Picture. Obviously, in the wake of Star Wars, bringing Star Trek to the big screen made sense, but they were still working with a script that had been written as a TV pilot. TMP feels very much like another groundbreaking space movie at times - not Star Wars, but 2001: A Space

Star Trek TMP will always be my second favorite (After, of course, The Wrath of Kahn). For me it’s so interesting, there are so many unexpected things that happen (that transporter malfunction sets the tone for “no one’s safe”); the cinematography is so grandiose, so beautiful and the ending seems appropriate.

I love this film, always have..it’s a weird, funky, very clearly late 70s/disco-era idealization of what Star Trek’s future utopia would look like, and it still makes me smile.

Not the most original, but it was the only time I was ever sent to the principal’s office:

A woman asked my aunt in a judgmental tone: “Where are you from?”

Wait.  The guy in the lede photo is a pick up artist?

Yeah that’s kind of a gross and really bizarre way to frame this article when you read the full context.

That pull out was pretty click baity. Her entire response is worth reading.

This man had no idea what TikTok was until the teens using it ruined his Tulsa rally. This is petty revenge, plain and simple. It has nothing to do with national security.

My 5 year old wears his mask when told to do so without complaint. This is a nation of adult-babies.
