deGrasse / Nye 2016

I long assumed the actual Arkham Asylum was made of Legos given how often criminals escaped from there.

As stupid fluffy fun it holds up pretty well. Jeff Bridges elevates it to fun-bad.

I found it surprisingly pleasant. Nothing to write home about, but Bridges is wonderful and Ryan Reynolds does the Ryan Reynolds thing pretty well. You can tell they really got along and had fun while filming, and I find that pretty infectious in a film.

Honestly it's not a bad popcorn movie if that makes sense. Just turn your brain off for a bit and sit back and enjoy it.

I think Greg Bear's "The Forge of God" has one of the better planet-exploding plotlines and methods ever conceived. It, and its sequel "The Anvil of Stars" are still among my favorite hard Sci-Fi books, for a great many reasons. Not a fan of his recent stuff, alas, but do love those two books a lot.
