I guess I have an unusual perspective because I actually grew up on a farm, but I saw a salughterhouse well before age six. I wasn’t traumatised, I understood where my food came from, and as an adult I made a personal decision to be a vegetarian. Children are only as delicate as we treat them, most of them can handle…

They need to know where their meat comes from at some point. What’s wrong with a kid seeing a video of the process of farm to plate? Same for circuses. We grabbed an animal from its natural habitat and taught it tricks to entertain your sweet little child.

If that 6 year old knew how they got that elephant to perform he would not want to go the circus.  Protesting at the circus is the reason the circus is gone. 

Of course she just could have said THAT. But she didn’t. Because she does wear a considerable amount of leather and fur.

Maybe comparing it to voting for president is a little extreme. 

This is less heartwarming reunion and more horrifying illusion, honestly.

Fine? Probably, that’s not for me to judge. It’s very much an individual choice.

As tragic it is to lose someone, I want no part of this Black Mirror future of ours.

I should have said “solid” food.  Cow’s milk is real food for baby cows.

The unspoken part of these arguments is that it makes all men out to be assholes. If you honestly believe in the “You went to a guy’s hotel room, what did you expect?” you’re admitting that a) you think the victim is an idiot and b) all men are devious predators.
