Has the author of this article never met anyone with a Laserdisc player? LD's had letterbox, directors' commentaries, extended cuts, featurettes, and all that other stuff before the popularity of the internet or the invention of DVDs.
Some of my favorite commentaries still haven't been ported to DVD.

Sounds like somebody needs to rent Dead Snow.
