I’m too late to this party having just caught up to the finale, but it seems like the finale was a major “here, have your cake and eat it” too moment with the explanations of why Discovery and her crew are never mentioned it again.

The uncomfortable truth is Trump and his entire administration needs to be killed off.
Otherwise the casualties will keep on mounting and Trump will burn down the USA before admitting defeat or giving up power
