Regardless of how it is used and whether that’s agreeable or not, the re-use of the poem to basically highlight whats going on around the world (and most notably at the USA) is something that has resonance and ultimately make for a strong marketing

I think instead of her leaving Jimmy, it would be Jimmy leaving her. It would sort of make sense given his reluctant hesitations as he is seeing what Kim is becoming...because of him. While Jimmy always chooses the wrong path, he always cared enough about Kim to not want the same thing for her. My guess is he leaves

I respect that opinion, chosen one games can be a bit pedantic. I was more drawn in by the backstory of how the world got to this place. The story behind what happened was hauntingly beautiful, sad, and bleak which contrasted really well with the beautiful world that you’re occupying.

Horizon Zero Dawn had one of the hauntingly beautiful stories ever told
