While Mexico has some great roads, I would not go to Guatemala. meanwhile there are some dangerous points in MX because the drug war, there are others that have never seen it because Mexico is big. Guatemala in general is a lot more unsafe.

A 2000 Nissan Primera, (Infiniti g20) even through my mom wanted me to get a b15 sentra because it was newer, the primera was better, nice ride, smooth sr20, spacious, goes well, good handling, I enjoy the shifting and it goes well on gas(~30-35 mpg) . A great choice for a first car
