A Visit From the Goon Squad is my favorite book to teach. I am thrilled to see it on your list along with several others in my curriculum. And, yes, please please please let Catcher go.  It is so overrated as a classroom text, and in my experience, usually only loved by white, male teachers.

This. So much this. Whether she intended it as a private joke or intentionally posted it publicly, she violated this woman’s privacy in an huge way.

That’s why we called my grandmother One Bite Betty. One year on her birthday her daughters put together an entire photo album of her eating enormous bites of everyone’s dessert- page after page of her shoveling huge forkfuls of food into her mouth. She was not amused.
