If there was a war we would make sure more of our carriers were functional at once. Plus, even at half strength that’s still more carriers than the rest of the world combined, plus you add in the F-35b on gator carriers, which makes them more powerful than the non-nimitz/ford class carriers in the world.

I mean, is life without an iPhone really worth living?

Can’t we have any fun around here?

Not even close to the same. Peaceful transit of territorial waters, if necessary, is legal. The US craft broke down (or inadvertently navigated) in territorial waters right off the coast of a major Iranian naval base.

Aussie here.

Or better yet, they should get on a sailboat and get boarded by the Coasties for a life jacket check., then they would be screaming about their constitutional rights and fourth amendment protection.

What is silly is your suggestion that laws apply to everyone else, but not the US, which can enter other country’s territory with impunity.

How would Fox News respond to this? ‘Hoo-rah these Murican patriot heroes saved our citizens from the evil Islamists yet again. Build a statue to these patriots!’”

Everyone seems to agree that these boats inadvertently drifted into Iranian waters.

My wife had Fox News on last night when she went to bed. The woman and her two guests repeatedly talked about how embarrassing it was and how these soldiers were forced to do things they didn’t want to do and that it was basically an act of war.

Thanks Obama.

I would imagine a lot of it gets filmed and/or photographed, actually. For liability purposes alone.

Speed dial via a seance? :)

I was sarcastically agreeing with your point and throwing AsdefGhjkl under the bus.

Wow. A military confrontation involving an enemy nation resulting from a mistake has been resolved without violence, but with respect and professionalism. Bravo people. Bravo.

You’re right. They should have “stood their ground,” started firing away and died in defense of their broken ship. Or at the very least, refuse to be arrested and jumped overboard to drown themselves.
