Uhhhh not sure what happened with the Youtube link but Tommy Givens is legit as hell so, cool I guess?
If Valve releases Half Life Alyx on PS5 with this I will be there in an instant.
Same, I haven’t been this engaged with the game in almost a year. So many things have converged this season that have made it a really good time. I’m also crazy excited for transmog next season.
It is true that the weapon sandbox feels pretty good (though I still don’t like how you basically have to use a handcanon if you’re doing anything that really matters), but stasis is just... so aggressively un-fun.
It’s also just a fucking exhausting experience. I hit a point where I was still really loving all the atmosphere, art direction, music, etc... but I was flat-out dreading the fights because they’re just so insanely hyper active and demanding. I enjoy a challenging game but Doom Eternal felt like sprinting on a…
They really, really botched the storytelling in Eternal, imo. Doom 2016 had this perfect, beautiful elegance to it where ALL of the slayer’s characterization came through his hands, and you just totally understood the guy from the get-go. The whole gag of there being this big, high-stakes plot going on that the slayer…
The sad thing is that the PvE portion of the game is in a pretty great spot right now. The new season has a lot of cool new guns and perks, the new secret mission that dropped on Tuesday was phenomenal, lots of quality of life improvements have made the game more enjoyable overall, etc...
That’s a HUGE element of why I think Valhalla is so dull. My favorite things to do (aside from sight seeing) in the last couple AC games has been infiltrating giant-ass forts and seeing how far I can get without being spotted. It’s just pure, simple, satisfying gameplay.
You kinda just showed how out of date your opinion of the game is... Lore has been in-game for years now.
I’m the same! Origins is easily my favorite of the modern AC games. The ancient Egypt setting is just so evocative in a way that Odyssey never reached for me. It felt like there was real variety in the map, whereas all of Odyssey just looks like the top left section of the Origins map.
The whole game ain’t it :/
Unfortunate but obviously completely unintentional. Hopefully they can update it to change the wording.
It’s crazy how all of the allure of this game completely evaporated for me. I’ll buy it someday, once the official PS5 version goes on sale or something, but it’s just wild how little interest I have in playing it.
Obviously there will always be best-in-slot options, but sunsetting means that Bungie isn’t forced into a corner where they have to constantly balance around the best stuff in the same way. They can throw something like Falling Guillotine into the game and know that yes, it’s insane at DPS and people will use it a…
Really excited to start playing, all the new stuff looks like it’s sitting in a nice pocket in terms of re-playability, stuff to chase, etc...
Honestly, I really would love it if this game could get a second wind. The over-arching structure in terms of the missions and the loot was really awful but goddamn did they nail the feeling of piloting an iron man suit around, and I thought the core combat loop of flying, dodging, priming and detonating abilities,…
Yeah... I definitely didn’t find Nioh more accessible lol the combat is WAY more technical, and the loot/RPG systems are much more complex and intimidating, at least to me.
Oh yeah, that is definitely the reason. It’s still just amazing to me that the risks and innovation are always coming from smaller companies, because the big companies refuse to even entertain an idea unless it’s going to make ALL of the money in the world as FAST as possible.
lol at these massive companies with endless money and resources just perpetually shitting the bed when it comes to making a video game.
