Man this game is really pulling out all the stops when it comes to making me not want to play it. It does not say good things about the culture at CDPR that a light pattern that’s literally DESIGNED to induce seizures did not get red flagged immediately, or at literally any other point later on in development.

That’s... not the problem...?

He’s said that he was impacted by his experience of growing up in the midst of that conflict. But to say that the game itself is directly evoking Israel/Palestine where the Seraphites are Palestine and the WLF is Israel requires you to reach pretty hard. A conflict where two groups fight over land is not automatically

It isn’t commenting on Israel/Palestine. You have to stretch quite a few elements of the story in order to read that into it.

Oh that’s neat! I much prefer the idea of everything being self contained, though.

I’m a non-inverted player but, uh... it seems pretty damn obvious? It’s like flying a plane. Push the stick forward to go down, pull up to, y’know, pull up.

It sounds like your screen either sucks or is really badly calibrated. I know, I know, that’s the snobby thing to say, but it’s basically true. I always use the dimness sliders according to what the game’s settings recommend and I very rarely have any issues at all. Cranking up the setting just gets you a worse image.

Yeah I absolutely despise those calibration screens. Just give me the goddamn three logos with the barely visible one in the middle; at least I understand what I’m looking at.

As one of those obsessive nerds who lays awake at night, terrified by the thought of just how many people out there use their TV’s day-in and day-out with motion smoothing, sharpening, and “vivid” modes on... I feel this comment.

There are tons of examples of times when I would want to snap a shot while just playing a game, one being that a lot of games don’t have photo modes.

Your insight about it being a vehicle for free advertising is totally valid and almost certainly correct.

Last of Us Part 2 is a delight for this kind of thing. I did a whole playthrough where I was basically a portrait photographer, trying to get interesting, expressive shots of the characters (helps that Last of Us Part 2 has the best looking character models in basically any game, ever).

Call me crazy, but I want to, I dunno, play a game.

I have what must be 100GB of screenshots and video clips from the last seven years. Photo modes and share buttons added a delightful new wrinkle to the last generation of gaming. There were some games where I would play as if I were a photographer, hunting for spots where I could get the best shots possible.

Yeah it’s definitely a perspective thing. I remember when the Witcher 3 came out on Switch and a bunch of people were yelling about how bad it looked. Meanwhile I was just amazed that a game of that size and complexity was running on a what is basically a $200 tablet.

Yeah it’s really annoying to me when I see the “Omg it looks so bad whyyyyy would you buy it for the Switch??” takes. “Uh, because playing games portably is neat?”

Overall I think I like MM better. The added combat abilities really help spice up the combat system, which I thought was kinda just serviceable in Spidey 2018.

Definitely seems like there’s a lot of issues, which is really unfortunate because I absolutely love using the thing (outside of some really stupid UI decisions they made). Demon’s Souls, Miles Morales, and Astro’s Playroom are all fantastic experiences, and playing AC: Valhalla at 60fps has been a treat as well.

Shouldn’t Bugsnax be here instead of Godfall??

The devs made it very clear many times that there was no sixth arch stone. People hoping for this were kidding themselves.
