The Ratchet and Clank PS5 demo is specifically designed to show off what devs can do with the SSD and I/O solution of the PS5. It’s a pretty cool look at the sorts of possibilities that could open up.

I think people are really under-appreciating just how much the SSD’s in these machines are going to change things for the better. The jump from PS4 to PS5 is substantially more exciting than the jump from PS3 to PS4.

The SSD storage actually represents a much bigger jump for this next generation than PS4/XB1 ever did for current gen. Current gen was literally just more power, so we got prettier graphics. This gen, devs will be able to build their games from the ground up knowing they’ll have access to SSD speeds (a thing that PC

At least they’re putting up a fight this time. The $299 console is definitely a good move and that + game pass will definitely find an audience, and that’s great.

60 is my main priority since I’ve already had somewhat decent load times ever since I bought an SSD a couple years ago. But I REALLY hope Bungie makes great use of the blazing fast SSD in the PS5.

It would still be a pretty incredible price considering you’d be getting a machine that’s comparable in processing power to the $500 Xbox. Obviously some people aren’t going to care but a lot of people do.

A solid 33% of why I’m getting a PS5 is to play Destiny 2 at 60fps

Glad that MS is swinging for the fences now, considering the thrashing they received last gen. Still no games, though. And yeah, I know the software situation will probably be a little different in a few years but after so many botched first party projects, I’m not holding my breath for them to get their shit

If there’s one thing Microsoft and Nintendo are terrible at, it’s naming consoles. Wii U is an all-timer in the “what the actual fuck were they thinking” hall of fame. At least Nintendo got “Switch” right, meanwhile Xbox seems hellbent on confusing as many people as possible.

1. Xbox naming conventions are so thoroughly fucked at this point. My god, it’s like they’re trying to make things as confusing as possible.

Aside from the moment-to-moment gameplay, the story is the worst part. Aimlessly cynical, view from nowhere “satire” that doesn’t satirize anything in a coherent way. It’s basically just the South Park approach of saying “People who genuinely care about things are stupid lol.” It’s shallow nihilism that has no actual

GTAV isn’t a very good game, so there is that.

Fucking Nintendo, man.

They care so much about fun that they’re forcing consumers to buy the Mario remasters within a limited time frame, introducing a whole new level of fake “scarcity” bullshit into the gaming space. Very cool, Nintendo.

Yeah! Good guy Nintendo! Nothing says “fun” like having an objectively scummy, fake scarcity tactic with their new Mario remasters.

f in the chat for people with carpet. And, like, not an actual house.

This is a trend that I’m finding increasingly annoying. I’d say that a lot of the “gaming community” has often been overly obsessed with visual fidelity, resulting in idiotic controversies about puddles in Spider-Man games and whatnot. That has for sure been a thing. But now I’m seeing more and more of this weird

Eh, I’m not worried. From everything we’ve seen, stasis is more about defense and area control and less about damage. So the other subclasses will still need to be used.

If the implication here is that Destiny is the latter, that’s... not remotely true... I work full time, I’m married, I have a toddler, and I spend a couple hours a night working on side projects and building up an art portfolio, and I can keep up with the game just fine. Sure, there are certain niche things that are de

You mean there’s grind in a game about grinding??
