Well... yeah... Not sure why anyone would expect PS3 backwards compatibility since the architecture is completely different, and at that point PS2 and PS1 back pat seems like a total pipe dream.

Okay I’m usually okay with forcing myself to push past the problematic elements of a piece of art and still enjoy it but seriously, fuck this. Fuck Ubisoft. I don’t usually do this with things but I’m going to make sure I never buy another Ubisoft game again, because this is so far beyond unacceptable.

4K 60fps, free update where you keep all of your expansions and whatnot. Not clear on the exact timeframe relative to the launch of the consoles, though.

If Sony delayed the PS5 to the point where Horizon: Forbidden West could be a launch title, that would be a HUGE move. Not quite the same draw as a new Zelda game, but still a colossal sequel to a very beloved game. Granted, I’m not counting on H:BW to be out until next fall, so there’s no way Sony would actually do

I’m definitely excited for PS5 because the specs they have on that thing are going to allow for some pretty incredible leaps in game design. That Ratchet and Clank demo alone should be enough to get anyone excited about the possibilities of a machine that can load in whole environments almost instantly. Also, Horizon:

I. DO. NOT. CARE. ABOUT. 4. K.

I mean... you can just plug it in after each session... I do that and have never run into battery life problems, ever.

One really big factor is the streamlining of the new player experience. Right now it’s an abject clusterfuck, but with Beyond Light, new players will experience something pretty similar to D1, where you start in the Cosmodrome and learn the game over the course of your time there.

In all honesty, I’m so excited. Destiny 2 is insanely bloated right now with a ton of content that MAYBE 2% of the population EVER plays. It’s a far bigger, more complex game than people often give it credit for and if this move frees up the time that Bungie has had to spend testing and implementing features for

Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War: Revelations

Not really surprised at all. I like the Arkham games overall but they have serious bro-y vibes.

In terms of excitement-to-disappointment ratio, I don’t think anything tops Read Dead 2. It’s not a BAD game, but I just could not hang with its insistence on being as cumbersome and annoying as possible at all times. The writing is fantastic and the world is gorgeous, I just wish I loved BEING in it.

It’s true, the Switch is the only console I can think of in recent memory that had a truly killer launch title.

Nice. I just started a Survivor playthrough but didn’t get too far; might as well start over on Grounded once the mode comes out so I can snag the trophy. I beat the game on normal the first time and then actually played on easy for NG+ to mop up collectibles and get the platinum. I keep hearing that the game really

Glad to see TLoU2 here. What a phenomenal experience. Ghost of Tsushima is also a worthy entry; best comfort food open world game I’ve played in forever.

I’m happy to admit that it will probably be well made, but man, I cannot stress enough how much I could not care less about a Suicide Squad game.

Literally any game that lets you use different gear pieces that have gameplay effects should have a loadout system.

Hot take but the touch pad is fantastic and it’s really sill that more devs didn’t take advantage of it. I’m playing Ghost of Tsushima right now and the touch bad has five different functions (swipe in four different directions and a press). I’ve played other games where a press on the right side of the touch pad

Yes! And like they did with the first Last of Us! That Grounded documentary is one of my favorite making ofs ever.

It really is incredible. From what I’ve read and heard, they’re using a motion matching system that makes it possible to seamlessly blend different animations at the same time, so the top half of the body can play one animation while the bottom half plays another. Seems like that goes a long way toward making the
