Aw, look at you gettin’ so worked up.

I find it very funny that you’re talking up the importance of context when you literally don’t have the context for what happens in part 2. You have plot points, nothing more. Jesus, this isn’t hard to understand.

“I don’t wanna play as someone else for half the game”

It’s not even the mid point, not even remotely. Further investigations of the leaks have shown that easily 70% of the game is spent playing as Ellie. There’s still a ton of misinformation out there.

There are plenty of stories that don’t have clear protagonists or antagonists. Watch more movies, read more books.

No, you weren’t. You were playing as a cold-blooded murderer. That’s not even my take on it, it’s literally how the game and the other characters present Joel. Tommy literally says “I got nothin but nightmares from those years.” Joel was a highway man who would ambush and murder people for supplies. You literally

Jesus Christ I forgot how abysmal that cover art is

Which is pretty hilarious because the people in question within this particular conversation were definitely not playing as a “hero” in the first Last of Us.

Things that are not politics: War, real world guns being marketed inside virtual worlds, economics, the production and distribution of digital media, etc...

Awww, there he is! There’s the little guy!

The entire point is that she’s not flatly “the villain.” And again, you’re missing like 90% of what makes a story actually work.

Still completely baffled by the people who are apparently so furious about the leaks. I’ve seen them all and none of it is particularly shocking or even slightly outside the realm of what could happen in this story. Like, sure, I get that maybe the story has gone in a direction that you’re not as into but so many

It’s just weird when devs do this sort of thing nowadays because it’s like... “Do they read the internet?” It’s not exactly hard to predict that there would be a huge backlash.

Honestly, when it first came out I was convinced it was possibly the best FPS ever made, but I actually did a similar thing where I never finished it and I’m not finding any motivation to go back to it.

Wow, real barn burner of an exclusivity deal there, Google.

Inside is my favorite game of all time, mainly for that ending. Easily the best ending I’ve ever seen in a game. My first time playing it I was laughing my ass off, just completely blown away by how audaciously and confidently the game took a screeching left hand turn into insanity.

No but really, it is lol You need some kind of push back from the game to keep it engaging. I’m not saying Anthem did it perfectly, but there has to be something.

Eh, I like devs being able to make whatever they want. We’re not exactly starved for massive RPG’s right now.

The overheating mechanic probably could use some tweaking but I get why it needs to be there. Flying infinitely is incredibly boring in video games.

As someone who really likes looter shooters a lot, I gotta agree with you. The loot game in Anthem just doesn’t seem to fit.
