PCIe 2 vs 3 isn’t even an issue until you get into 1080 territory, and even then it’s a <10% penalty on a card that’s probably 2-3x the throughput of whatever you’re running now. Holding back because you’re only going to get 270% improvement instead of 300% is kinda nonsensical.

GTX 770 was released 5 years ago. Even stodgy offices recapitalize their fleet at 5 years. In no way should developers in 2018 be targeting that ancient of a card.
