We bought a 99 Rodeo which had the same drivetrain. Ended up totalled 7 years later with 133k on the clock. Was quick by suv standards, at least in 1999 but gutless above 65mph. A good thing considering the handling and shitty brakes.

I wouldn’t mind one of the earlier versions of either the Rav4 or CRV with a manual. Makes a great little station car.
