Gulf war was 25 Years ago.

In 1989, these were pieces of shit straight off the dealer lot. Brand new these were a hassle. 27 years later, I feel sorry for anyone who has to troubleshoot and score parts for this thing.

A-10 is set to be retired.

Hate to break it to you but its now 2016.

Sorry for delayed response...had a lot of jalop hate mail to sort through.

The A-10 is a limited overpriced COIN platform

I’m quite aware of the background, design and testing of the A-10 platform. The A-10's gun is not the first choice for killing tanks. The first choice for anti armor has been Mavericks for decades. On a gun range, the first choice against 40-50 years old tanks shells is the cannon.

Glad you brought up cost

I agree with the defense department, Airforce, Marines and Navy. These are the people who are actually tasked with maintaining our capability and planning for future threats. Nothing I have said is far off from their position on the matter.

The F-35 will be as effective and more a CAS platform than the A-10, Marine AV8b and F-16 ( some but not all of our aircraft tasked with CAS). The issue is COIN ops and low threat environments and not wanting to use big money items against against civilians\militia\shitheads and their pee shooters. The “ISIS scenario”

Externals do impact detection ranges but not like what folks think. F-35 with externals will still be still stealthier than a clean F-16\Super Hornet.

Airforace tried to grab the Tucana vut Cogress shut it down. Big draw on the Tucano is that it is REALLY cheap to operate.

The biggest drawback of the OV-10 was it was painfully slow. As much fond memories it may generate, cruise speed is “Quaint”

External weapons on an F-35 or F-22 does not negate “stealth benefits”. Detection range increase but is still far less than any aircraft where stealth features are not a primary design element. Where a F-35 with a combat loadout of internal loadout is effectively undetectable. An F-35 with externals will see detection

FUCK!!!

Daily drive is one thing. Family haulin is another.

As one of the folks around here that actually has a family to haul around and not some youngin who goes “Brah...WRX has back seats brah...total family car brah!! I know! My brah has baby seats in the backs of his. Total family car”

Going by the video, looks to me he was traveling too close based on the 2 second rule minimum.

Thats some bullshit right there.
