That body colored piece is only there on the premium packages currently... or rather, the black surround is only there on the premiums - otherwise the whole thing is body colored.

The tail lights ARE different than the current gen — but, to me, it is neither better or worse. As an owner of a 2015, they are a pain to wash and dry — and that piano-black panel is a nightmare to keep clean.
