$200 for a base Xbox + $60/year for Gold (you need it for pretty much anything good) + $30-60 per game... Sounds a lot more than the $100 for the Apple TV! I've got a PS3 already anyway, this is just another way to stream on the TV as well, so it gives me a lot more than just a way to play games.
